Sip Happens: Why I Chose This Tour
Sometimes you must escape the beach (even in Ayia Napa) and chase something richer.
Like wine. And culture. And stone villages with more personality than your last three Tinder matches combined.
This full-day bus tour from Ayia Napa ticked every box: city vibes in Limassol, authentic Cypriot wine tasting at a local winery, and cobblestone fairytales in Omodos Village.
Add a bit of history, flavor, and a generous dose of mountain air, and you’ve got the perfect Cypriot cocktail.
Payment and Booking
You will pay only a tiny part of the amount through PayPal (a deposit) at the time of payment.
That way, we can reserve a spot for you on the tour and ensure your place is guaranteed.
You will pay the rest of the payment (the balance) for the tour to the driver/guide (in Limassol), who will cover your tour.
First Stop: Limassol—City Life with a Coastal Twist
We kicked things off in Limassol, Cyprus’ second-largest city. After a quick orientation stroll led by our guide (to ensure we didn’t end up in a fish market thinking it was a museum), we had plenty of time to explore on our own.
Limassol’s got you covered whether you’re into boutique shopping, grabbing a seaside coffee, or wandering past medieval castles.
I even considered buying a vintage lamp. Don’t ask why.
Wine Not? A Tasting at Ktima Gerolemo Winery
Next up, we drove into the Troodos foothills to Ktima Gerolemo Winery.
That’s where the fun fermented. We sampled six types of local wines plus a shot of zivania—Cyprus’ beloved firewater.
(Spoiler: it burns in the best way.)
The winery is a peaceful hilltop haven, with views that make you consider quitting your job and becoming a winemaker.
Or at least a wine drinker with ambition.
Omodos Village: Cobblestones, Crosses & Lace
Omodos was love at first sight. It features narrow alleyways, charming stone houses, handmade lace, and a square that appears to have been designed for slow sipping and people-watching.
The Monastery of the Holy Cross is a must—remember to cover up or face the monk’s side-eye.
Inside, we explored religious icons, woodcarvings, and even a museum dedicated to Cyprus’ national liberation struggle.
Optional lunch? Yes, please—and yes, it pairs well with that bottle of red I bought at the winery.
Quick Sip: Coffee Break Near Chirokitia
Because every great adventure needs caffeine, we made a short pit stop near Chirokitia village.
We had enough time to stretch, snack, and caffeinate before diving back into cultural delight.
