A Caffeine Kick in Lythrodontas
After all that mineral magic, it’s time for a breather in a local village called Lythrodontas.
Here, we stop for a strong Cyprus coffee in a traditional kafenio – a cultural time machine with espresso.
You’ll experience the slow pace of village life (and perhaps a few local stories if the old-timers are chatty).
Into the Wild: An Isolated Chapel & a Hidden Lagoon
Things get slightly off-the-grid from here – just how we like it. We drop by a secluded chapel tucked in the hills before heading off-road to the jewel of the trip: the Enchanted Lagoon.

Hunger tends to sneak in after enchantment, so we refuel at a cozy family-run taverna in Fikardou.

High-Altitude Views & Hidden Monasteries
Now it’s time to climb up to 1500 meters above sea level for a panoramic view that’ll make your camera weep with joy. Before that, we stop at Machairas Monastery, one of Cyprus’ most sacred spots.
Legends of Saint Helen, flowing holy springs, and spiritual calm await. Just remember to dress modestly or risk earning the side-eye of the holy.

Our final stop is the famous village of Lefkara, the birthplace of the delicate “Lefkaritiko” lace, proudly UNESCO-certified and possibly admired by da Vinci.
